They may create the most stunning website design, then several months down the line you may have to pay a search engine specialist to optimize the website to gain first page search engine positions - which can often mean starting again from scratch. The design and structure of a website is critical for search engine ranking and search engine optimization should be incorporated into your web design development from the very beginning.

Many web design companies are "jumping on the bandwagon" and are now starting to offer search engine optimization as an additional service to potential clients, but are unable to gain or show any decent results on the major search engines to back their claims, or can only gain first page positions for obscure keywords that are never searched for.
